Board certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Medical Captain for the NYC Marathon for >3 years. In addition, I have a Disaster- and Wilderness Medicine background, a HAM Radio license, and I am bilingual with knowledge of multiple other languages.
Significant international experience including training and work in W. Europe, multiple states in the U.S., as well as some experience in Haiti and limited experience in other areas of the world.
Currently working in an ER-like, acute care setting for cancer patients. I have significant experience with Oncologic Emergencies. Triage (forward/reverse/remote) and Telehealth are also areas of expertise, especially as a means of optimizing patient access to care. I developed and implemented a remote triage/Telehealth program to streamline care and flow within the hospital and its satellites for cancer patients requiring acute care.
A believer in real-time solutions, and a system disrupter when necessary, I think that Telehealth, AI, and Digital Healthcare can be combined to optimize healthcare system operations. Going forward, I want to use these tools to improve patient care and access, staff knowledge and competency, and patient and staff safety.
I believe that it is important to continue to work clinically and see patients and work with colleagues of all scopes. This affords me the opportunity to remain engaged and equipped to contribute in real-time in areas including: clinician education and collaboration, operational innovation, and research. By doing this, I hope to continue to positively impact health on the individual and the societal level, with emphasis on prevention and safety, access to care, and efficacy of care.
